Moving to the city

By Taxi:
There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport, one at arrivals and the other at departures. The fare on the taxi meter should read 2.00 € (daytime) or 2.50 € (night time). Outside the city limits, city fares are charged per kilometer (0.45 €/km). An additional 1.60 € is charged for the transportation of luggage or animals. Before taking a taxi, inquire about the fare. 

 

By Subway (Metro):
Lisbon Airport has its own Metro Station, which is the most convenient public transport.

 

By Bus:
There are several bus lines going trough the airport. The bus route numbers and the names of the "end of the line" terminals are:

N. 208: Cais Sodré – Aeroporto – Estação Oriente (everyday, 0:30 - 5:35)
N. 705: Estação Oriente – Aeroporto – Estação Roma-Areeiro (Monday to Friday)
N. 722: Pç. Londres – Aeroporto – Portela (everyday, daytime)
N. 744: Marquês Pombal – Aeroporto – Moscavide (everyday)
N. 783: Amoreiras – Aeroporto – Portela / Prior Velho (Monday to Friday, alternating route Portela or Prior Velho. Night time, only Prior Velho); Marquês Pombal – Aeroporto – Prior Velho (weekends and Holidays, night time)




 

Arriving to Lisbon by Train


 The main train stations in Lisbon are: "Estação de Stª Apolónia" and "Estação do Oriente", with national and international (Lisbon-Madrid-Paris and Lisbon-Porto-Vigo).


 

Arriving to Lisbon by Car


 Traffic drive on the right in Portugal and international traffic signs are used. The minimum age for driving is 18 years old. Speed limits are: 120 km/h (75 miles/h) on highways, 90 km/h (60 miles/h) on roads and 50 km/h (30 miles/h) in urban areas.

Main highways: From North peninsula take A1, from East take A6, from South take A2.

Moving around Lisbon

The most convenient way to move around Lisbon is by subway (Metro), by bus (Carris) or by taxi.

Public transports need electronic reusable cards called "7Colinas" or "Viva". These cards can be bought in vending machines inside Metro Stations and you can buy trips or load money on the card.


Metro/Carris Fares:
- Reusable card ("7colinas" or "Viva Viagem"): 0,50 € (you need to buy trips in machines inside the Metro stations)
- One ticket (valid for 1 hour, within Metro and Carris network): 1,40 €
- One ticket (valid for 24 hours, within Metro and Carris network): 6,00 €
